“The holy books are the basis of unity“

“The holy books are the basis of unity for people and Allah has introduced religions as one united set of principles. This is mankind that causes division and discord among different religions and does not allow humanity to be united as a whole” said Head of Asra Intl. Foundation

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran)- A special meeting to discuss the interactive capacities of Islam-Christianity dialogue was held in Qom’s Asra International Foundation on Monday, December 5 in which a number of Shia scholars attended; Hujjat al-Islam Abalqassem Alidoust, Head of Seminaries’ Association for Islamic Jurisprudence and Law as well as Hujjat al-Islam Murtadha Javadi Amoli, Head of Asra Foundation, were the main speakers of the event.

During the meeting which was held to discuss the outcomes of the 10th round of interfaith dialogues between Islam and Christianity in Vatican, Hujjat al-Islam Javadi Amoli stated, “The holy Quran has determined the appropriate ways by which people of different faiths and religions can cooperate and hold dialogues; the holy books are the basis of unity among followers of different religions and Allah almighty defines religion as one united set of principles,”

The senior cleric further said that one must not confuse the nature of religions with the actions of their followers and added, “The holy book of Quran has enlightened our rationale and stated that the divine aspect of religion is unique, therefore, the confusion and multiplicity that we witness regarding religions are the result of mankind’s behavior and actions,”

“This is mankind that causes division and discord among different religions and does not allow humanity to be united as a whole; as a result, it’s our duty to put aside all the differences and follow on the real path of religion to reach the one and only truth intended by Allah,” Hujjat al-Islam Javadi asserted.
